If you have a blocked drain, sink or toilet then we can clear them for you!
Our expert team of drainage engineers will help you in a quick and professional manner. We have experience in clearing blockages on all drains, waste pipes, waste disposal and sani units as well as macerators.
When blockages are proving difficult to clear, the drains may need to be jetted. If that is the case we have the full use of our very own high pressure jetting machine. We pride ourselves in being very effective in clearing blockages in main drains, pipework and toilets in either homes or commercial buildings.
We also provide an emergency service for drains that need to be cleared immediately. As with everything we do we will complete our work in a professional and reliable manner and our drain jetting services are available to all residents in the London area.
Before buying a new home you may want to carry out a CCTV drain survey to ensure the drains are whole and complete. Our cutting edge inspection equipment and experienced drainage engineers are here to help.
A CCTV survey inspection can identify issues such as collapsed drains, roots in drains or cracked drains. We can copy the footage to DVD, giving you a very clear condition of your drains.
Our service is reliable and our engineers honest in all aspects of our work. If the drains need
jetting, our jetting machine
can clear all blockages.
Some of the most common questions about drains we get asked at C Anderson & Sons
The most common reasons for a blocked toilet is from inserting items not desinged for flushing such as wet wipes, sanitary products and nappies.
Stack pipes in the back of toilet have a diameter of 4", but the sani unit that waste must pass through is deceptively small. About the size of a 20 pence piece!
Drain cleaning products available from your local supermarket or DIY store that are acid based can be used to try and disolve the blockage. Perhaps with the aid of a plunger, you might be able to clear the blockage yourself. However it may only help slightly or temporarily, or not at all, in which case is time to call a professional.
If you've tried using a drain cleaner, plunger or unblocker and water still won't subside, then it's time to call in a plumber. They have special equipment at their disposal depending on where the blockage is or what's causing it, such as a drain jetter, mechanical drain snakes, wet hoovers and rods.
If you're thinking about buying a property as an example, you might want to assess the state of the drains before making an offer. A CCTV drain survey can identify any damage such as cracked pipes, whether sections of pipes need replacing, roots blocking drains, or partial blockages due to the lining not being smooth or complete leading to more blockages down the track.
In addition to drains, we can assess the state of the plumbing in general, the central heating including the boiler to give you the piece of mind for that big purchase.
Sometimes blockages can clear like a dream and be done within the hour. More stubborn drain blockages obviously will take longer.
On average, we estimate between 1-3 hours for drainage work. However, we don't charge a call out fee to assess your issue.
